African Penguins

African Penguins

African penguins, photographed at the New England Aquarium. They are also known as jackass penguins because they make a sound that is similar to a donkey’s bray. African penguins are found on Africa’s coastal waters and islands, from Namibia through South Africa and are in danger of extinction due to depletion of food from over-fishing, climate change and pollution from incidences such as oil spills.
