Barracuda Shoal in Borneo

barracuda

A shoal of juvenile great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda) swim across the top of the reef in Mabal Kapalai, Borneo. Great barracuda can grow over 6 feet (1.8 m) long, and are vicious predators, preying mainly on smaller fish. As they become mature, they are more often found alone. Barracudas have been known to attack divers, although the wounds are not fatal and attacks are rare.
