Gearing Up in Dutch Springs

Two scuba divers and a freediver gear-up on the platform in Pennsylvania’s Dutch Springs. The 50 acre lake is one of the largest fresh water facilities in the US for diving. It boasts an average 30 feet (9 meter) visibility with up to 70-80 feet (21-24 meter) in the Spring and Fall. With 20 underwater platforms for scuba training and dozens of underwater attractions, Dutch Springs attracts divers far and wide. The premier underwater attraction is a Sikorsky H37 helicopter which is 85 feet (25.9 meters) long, 30 feet (9.1 meters) high and suspended in the water at 50 feet (15.2 meters). Other interesting underwater attractions include a pilot boat, a crane, a trolley, a Cessna airplane, a cement truck plus many others.
