Lionfish, with their elaborate profile, vivid patterns and poised demeanor, are ideal subjects for underwater photography. They’re unconcerned and motionless, using just enough energy to be softly lulled with the current. More often than not, they’ll glide to the camera with a frozen quiet start, curious eyes and swirling spines and space around.
