An Alien-like Octopus

scuba diving

Octopus usually live in coral crevices or burrows which provide them protection against predators. Here an alien-like white-spotted octopus (Octopus macropus), photographed while scuba diving in Dar es Salaam, is without a den, resting among a mossy sea floor while relying on his built-in camouflage to keep him safe. Notice how well the spiked texture of Alien like Octopus skin matches the vegetation on the sea floor.
