A school of batfish Platax teira, residing beneath a katamaran boat in Msasani Bay, Dar es Salaam. I find them there day after day, sometimes deep below in the center of a shifting silverside shoal, swerving and carving into the shimmering specs for a catch. Squirrelfish are closely related to Soldierfish.
