Water is life’s matter and matrix, mother and medium. There is no life without water.
– ALBERT SZENT-GYORGYI (DISCOVERER OF VITAMIN C)
I approach a superb Freediving and mystical universe, rippling with animated sea goldies upon a wall of obscure and bulbous corals. Drowned colors range in a myriad of hues, from the brilliant blue of starless skies to hooded greens and lusterless purples. Depths of dark ecstasy lie beyond, beckoning me deeper into a mutable world of mysterious masses, bulging, gaping and intricately woven. A bewildering harmony shared between myself and the rhythmic, throbbing tide alongside a perpetual curving of space, solids and fluctuating shapes. Freediving is in these dropped back depths where an unconscious impulse works at will, where secret swells are whisperless, where joy is relished – as it is redefined by pressure, water and speed.
