Hermit Crab

A furry, giant red hermit crab, known as the white-spotted hermit crab or spotted hermit crab (Dardanus megistos), photographed on a coral reef during a night dive in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. These crabs are found in the Indo-Pacific region from Africa to the South China Sea and Hawaii. They can attain a maximum size of 20 cm (8 inches).

Photo was shot with a Sony DSC-RX100M II Camera in a Nauticam housing with a INON S-2000 Strobe, a hand-mounted SOLA 2100 Video Light and a Sola P1200 red focus light.
