The Shades of a Longfin Batfish, Platax teira, glides through the water, the obliterate vertical dark line across its eye and black pupil disguises the eye’s locations. Additionally the coloring provides camouflage in waters half lit. A dark eye spot on its belly can also be clearly seen, there to further confuse predators as to where its eyes actually are.
