Submerged with a Moorish Idol

Moorish Idol

Submerged under a reef of coral with a tantalizing submerged Moorish Idol. Now we get it, we really get why the Moors were glad to call this fish their own. The water flashes with a compressed body of black, white and yellow bands as it sails dramatically through the water, bringing a feeling of happiness, of wonder, of awe. Their long, tubular snouts leads them gracefully, zig-zagging along the reef, we wonder if they know how unique they are among their neighbors. Their humbleness so unaware of their notoriety in the world of land, their handsome, uniqueness so irresistible for hobbyists and marine iconography. A near impossible, heartbreakingly task to keep in an aquarium, we appreciate the Moorish Idol in all it’s glory, in the sea, where it is truly meant to be. Read more about the Moorish Idol here.
